The influent wastewater is mixed with coagulant and flocculant to form larger flocs. Pressurised water saturated with air releases micro air bubbles that attach to suspended particles, causing them to float to the surface. A scraper system collects the floated sludge and scum into a hopper, while clarified water exits through the outlet. Heavier particles settle at the bottom and are removed by a pump.
